In the morning we have a workshop, in the afternoon a visit to the site.
During the morning we map the journey of a molecule of water, from when it is drawn into one of the rivers, travelling downstream either the Allen (which was once called the Wim, we think), or the Stour. If it is one of the 4 million gallons
sucked into the treatment works at Longham it will travel through the town. Perhaps it will travel through a person. Then out again, we know not where, to join in the fun where the Stour meets the Allen - and muddy waters and clear waters mingle.
We then make a ritual, of ordinary events. Making tea. Sharing water.
Then I ask people to think about one memory of water that brought an emotional response. This brings up a near drowing - beautifully shared through performance, and other simple moments of life and water coming into contact.
Then off to the site.
