Earlier in the process we'd talked about water and language. We'd "pooled" ideas. Now, six months on while not assuming everything was on tap, it was time to go with the flow.
Some homework had been done. We had stories about water gods, greek myths including Naiads and Dryads (water nymphs), and some history of how water had been managed in Wimborne.
We started the morning talking about the pumphouse and images that had come to us after the visits.
Dripping
Ice
A serpent creature climbing the ladder and seeing it's tail
Legs or stilts, that we thought were pipes
A giant rubber duck in a big tank
Projecting on to the bricked up windows
Children playing - water bombs, water pistols, appled bobbing, sprinklers, fishing
Dryness - sand
Trailing hands through water
A foxes glacier mint
Well dressing and messages on a tree
Collecting drips in a tin to put in serpents bowl
Clues for the serpent
Then throughout the day we came back to how these images might relate to the history of how water had shaped Wimborne, how it affects us individually and how it might divide us in the future.
ROOM 1 - might deal with the shaping of Wimborne (the magic of water)
ROOM 2 - the peopling of Wimborne (steam and rheumatism)
ROOM 3 - how those people use and waste water (baths and beverages)
CAR PARK - the emotions of water (puddles and wellies)
GRASSED AREA - thanks (well dressing)
